Half the American work force not satisfied with their job

… and only a fifth apply a passion towards their career.

A group of recent college grads (http://www.pursuethepassion.com/) went on a road trip to interview people passionate about their work. You can read about and listen in to their interviews with folks from all over the U.S. Their 2007 tour is ending next week.

Related fact: the Economist’s 2008 Pocket World in Figures ranks the U.S. as number one in global competitiveness. It also places the U.S. at number one on the innovation index. Imagine what we could do in the United States if just another 1-2% of U.S. professionals injected passion into their professional work! Imagine what the whole world could do if, worldwide, another 1-2% of us put passion into our service!

It blows my mind to think about all the untapped potential in the human race. How much more we could be collectively achieving by tapping into and utilizing our untapped “human capital” (i.e., human ingenuity, creativity) around the world? How can we ignite such a change in the world?
